Gaslamp Theatre is proud to present their latest project, a new and exciting take on the oft-overlooked Shakespearean comedy Merry Wives of Windsor. Dismissed by the king and down on his luck, Sir John Falstaff decides to fix his financial woe by seducing the wives of two wealthy merchants. The wives find he sent them identical letters and take revenge by playing tricks on Falstaff when he comes calling. With the help of their husbands and friends, the wives play one last trick in the woods to put Falstaff's mischief to an end.
Gaslamp’s production of Merry Wives follows Shakespeare’s script, edited and directed by Michael Cartledge, alongside co-director Sea Adolphus. The performances will take place in the Glasgow University Union Debates Chamber, from the 9th-11th February 2026. Tickets are £10/£9 Concession. Additionally, following its success with Gaslamp’s production of Macbeth earlier this year, there will be a ticketed dress run on the 8th, with tickets for only £7. Doors will open at 7pm for a 7.30 start
