Distance - 6 miles, 18 miles, 32 miles - all ride lengths end in Dallas Center for the end of ride celebrationGary's Annual Brain Cancer Bike Ride, May 16, 2026 will be our fourth registered ride. Ride starts at 10:00 a.m. at the Waukee Raccoon River Valley Trailhead. End of ride celebration will be at Dallas Center’s Main Street - downtown. We will have incredible food offered from the Korner Kone Eats N’ Treats, beverages for adults and kids from Board and Batten, live music from Paul Little, outdoor games for adults and youth, and many vendors such as: Trailside Nutrition, Meyer Bake Shop and Trinkets, Brown Eyed Girl LLC, Folklore Bakery, Haynes Homestead, Queen Bee Face Painting, KPC Studio, Mommy and Me Sensory Play. You can also sign up as a NON RIDER if you don’t want to ride but just have lots of food, beverages and fun!!
100% of our donations and sponsorships go to Richard Deming Cancer for their Integrative Medicine treatments, Iowa Oncology Research Association for Glioblastoma clinical trials, MercyOne Des Moines Foundation for gift cards for Glioblastoma patients and their families, Gary’s Compassion Fund for financial assistance for Glioblastoma patients and their families. Since our inception in 2022 you have helped us raise almost $147,000 which has helped 361 patients with diagnosis of primary brain cancer and 64 of those Glioblastoma patients.
The mean survival rate for Glioblastoma patients is still only 8 months upon diagnosis and their 5 year survival rate is still only 6.9%, so, we have a lot of work to do in research, clinical trials, integrative medicine treatments.
Our funding goal for 2026 is $65,000. We'd be so very grateful for your support in helping bring hope for these terminal brain cancer patients. Help us to turn "terminal into "treatable".
Gary's Ride, May 16, 2026. Come out and ride or be a non rider to honor him or to honor someone you know that has been diagnosed or passed from terminal brain cancer and to support an incredible cause!!
Forever grateful and humbled -
Kristin Wiedenfeld, Founder and President
