Empowering IT Leaders; Strategies for Overcoming Financial Constraints

Join us for a collaborative peer discussion facilitated by Gartner Executive Partner Dean Doige. We will dive into the current challenges facing all public sector organizations as they navigate increased demand for new digital services while balancing budget constraints and increasing costs coupled with vendor inflexibility.
Dean will introduce four IT financial discipline best practices and encourage dialogue among attendees to highlight current vendor challenges, successful negotiation tactics, and new cost optimization approaches to consider.
This session is designed to equip you with best practices and ideas to inform upcoming vendor renewals, new technology investments, and budget planning.

Session Facilitator
Dean Doige, Senior Executive Partner
Dean joined Gartner in 2018, bringing over 25 years of information technology leadership experience. Dean works with CIOs across Canada and supports them in areas such as Leadership Development, Team Performance & Culture, I&T Operating models, Business & IT Strategy, and Design Thinking. Prior to joining Gartner, Dean was CIO of the Clark Builders Group of Companies, part of the largest construction conglomerate in the world, where he transformed the organization to be a leader in the use of technology and data across operations. During his tenure as a CIO, Dean launched a technology startup specializing in online construction collaboration and process automation and construction reporting and analytics.
