Gargoyle Carving Course

Have you ever looked up at a old church or cathedral and wondered what it takes to make one of those aweful beasties hanging from the stone work and what sort of person would make such a monstrosity?...

Well This course aims to answer your questions by putting the tools in your hand and giving you a chance to have a go at carving your very own little beastie which you can then take home.

You'll be given a block of stone and with a chisel, mallet and some tips and tricks you can carve your very own gargoyle or grotesque.

This course is to take place in Alex Waddell's workshops near the centre of Cardiff in a shared working space. easy to access on foot, public transport and by car for those both local and traveling.

Suitable 16 and older but will be hard on your hands so please enquire if unsure.

You will be provided with chisel, mallet, Safety glass and dust mask.

Tea, coffee and biscuit to help keep energy levels up. (please inform if dietary requirements prior to event) Packed lunch is adviced but local shops are a short walk.

Messy course and hands on course so sensible shoes and clothes that are okay to get very dirty are a must. I would strongly advice not to wear your favourite little back dress and hi heals.
