Researchers at the University of Florida have compiled years of study into the nine principles of Florida-Friendly Landscaping™. The program is designed to help residents and communities find success in planting and maintaining a sustainable and attractive Florida landscape.

This program is rooted in science and its research-based principles help homeowners and communities conserve water while reducing fertilizer and pesticide use, protecting Florida’s natural resources. When these principles are applied creatively, they become an art form, resulting in beautiful, sustainable yards that attract wildlife and complement Florida’s unique environment.

Whether you’re a seasoned gardener, a new homeowner, or simply curious about sustainable landscaping, you’ll leave with actionable tips and a first look at how to design and maintain a landscape that’s both attractive and environmentally responsible.
