Early learners and their caregivers are invited to join Smithsonian Gardens in the Pollinator Garden at the National Museum of Natural History on Monday, July 20 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. This month’s program theme is soil! Discover what soil is made of through a story time, play, and a craft.
Find us in the Pollinator Garden outside of the National Museum of Natural History, on the Constitution Avenue lawn.
Garden Play is designed for children ages two and up and their caregivers and families. Activities are designed with early learners in mind, but children of all ages are welcome. Parents and guardians must remain with their children.
Please come prepared for an outdoor experience including hands on soil and mud play. Wildlife and insects, including bees and mosquitoes, are a part of our gardens. Participants are encouraged to bring water, sun protection, and are welcome to bring their own blankets for story time. We will have water and wipes available but consider bringing an apron or change of clothes for your little one.
Activities may be subject to cancellation or modification due to weather conditions. (A little rain won’t keep us away, but we will cancel in case of a heavy downpour or thunderstorm!) Please check the Smithsonian Gardens online calendar for the latest information: https://gardens.si.edu/plan-your-visit/events/
