Join us for an inspiring evening of community and celebration as we host a soft opening and fundraiser for the new Sukwisim Healing Lodge. Guests will enjoy an Indigenous tea service, a delicious lobster supper, and a selection of desserts—all in support of an important cause. Your participation will help bring to life a sanctuary dedicated to healing and wellness, creating a nurturing environment for those in need.
Honoured Guests and Performers
We are privileged to welcome Elder George Paul as Master of Ceremony. Elder Paul is a renowned Mi’kmaq knowledge keeper, artist, and songwriter, best known for creating the Mi’kmaq Honour Song—a powerful anthem of pride and resilience sung at gatherings across Turtle Island.
The evening will also feature a special performance from acclaimed Mi’kmaq recording artist Deedee Austin, whose powerful voice and soulful songs have captivated many. Recently recognized as Howie Mandel’s golden buzzer recipient, Deedee’s talent and impact are extraordinary. Additional performances by local artists and cultural performers will further highlight the vibrant creativity and spirit of the community, ensuring that the celebration is truly unforgettable.

• Ribbon Cutting Ceremony: Meet in front of the Lodge at 4:50 pm
• Welcoming & Ribbon Cutting: 5:00 pm (Front Steps of Sukwisim Healing Lodge)
• Tea Ceremony with Elder: Grand Room
• Tea & Talk Hour: 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm (Socializing in the Grand Room)
• Transition to Tented Area for Meal: 6:00 pm
• Welcoming Song: By Elder George Paul
• Lobster Supper & Dessert: 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm
• Entertainment: By Elder George Paul and local artists during the meal
