About this Event

Description: Come to the Farm and learn the basics of garden maintenance. These skills include how to prune, identify common diseases, pest prevention, etc.

What to expect: In this training, the staff at EMBARC will guide you through some of the most important tasks needed for basic garden maintenance. Rangers will identify common pests and prevention as well as ways to keep your plants healthy in the summer and fall. We will work in the raised beds, greenhouse, pollinator garden, and orchard.

Program leader: Your guide will be Ranger Sherrie, Park Ranger at EMBARC, and Ranger Rachel, Park Naturalist at EMBARC.

Where to meet: Find Rangers Sherrie and Rachel in the garden behind the brown Ranger Station office..

What to bring: Wear comfortable footwear, dress for the weather, and bring a refillable water bottle. If you have your own work gloves and garden tools, we highly encourage you bring them. We will have limited supply available to borrow.

Restrooms: Public restroom is available in the parking lot at the portapotty (professionally cleaned twice a week).

Recommended ages: This program content is designed for adults.

Dogs: This program is NOT appropriate for dogs, so please leave your pup at home.
