Please join us for our November program where we will take a trip back millions of years as we explore "How Glaciers Formed Lake County" presented by April Vaos, public program specialist from Lake County Forest Preserve. Imagine yourself on the banks of the Fox River looking back on Earth’s 4.5-billion-year history where a wall of ice 700-2,000 feet tall covered everything in view - no river, no trees, only ice. Over time, the ice sheet grew and retreated over the land leveling off bluffs, valleys and hills into what you see today, largely a flat landscape. Looking out across the river, it continues to flow today as a gentle reminder of the colossal forces that shaped this region long before any human footprints arrived.
Guests are always welcome. Join as a member and receive a $25 gift card to a local garden nursery. Refreshments served and business meeting follows thereafter.
