Gandugodali in Chitra Natakotsava
Among all forms of poetry, drama is considered one of the most beautiful and captivating art forms.
G. P. Rajarathnam, who became a household name through his beloved children rhyme Nayi Mari Nayi Mari, brings together the powerful emotion of Veera Rasa, or the spirit of heroism, in his old Kannada play Gandugodali.
Set at the end of the Satya Yuga, the play unfolds during a time when injustice and unrighteousness have reached their peak, while truth, justice and righteousness are steadily declining.
In these troubled times, when injustice and evil prevail, Bhargava Rama takes up his axe to destroy unrighteousness and restore Dharma.
Gandugodali tells the powerful story of Bhargava Rama and his quest to establish justice and righteousness by confronting the forces of evil.
