The Shakespeare in the Woods Young Acting Company presents Hamlet. One of Shakespeare's most famous tragedies, this tale of the Prince of Denmark is sure to intrigue and challenge audiences of any age, leaving them with the famous question, "To be, or not to be?" Performed by 30 students ages 8-16, our young actors present the most famous scenes from the play. The show runs 60 minutes and has a talk-back discussion between the actors and audience following the performance. Prepare to be amazed by the talent of these young actors!
Shakespeare in the Woods Camp is a five-day immersive theater education program taught by Gamut Theatre, Central PA's only professional theater dedicated to telling classic stories in new and exciting ways. Students study acting, voice, movement, stage combat and improvisation and have one week to rehearse a play for performance.
This youth performance is FREE and open to the public. Donations at the door are welcome and much appreciated. While there is no cost to attend, we ask that you please register each attendee for this event.
Youth performances can be rescheduled by their sponsoring organizations in the event of dangerous weather for the safety of the performers and their families. Watch for weather related updates. Please also feel free to bring you own chair (bag or folding) as the amphitheater steps are made of concrete.
