On Tuesday, June 2, we're opening the doors of DIE GAMEREI for the third time as part of our GAMEREI Open House series. This edition of our meetup for exchanging ideas, discussing, and networking within the Bavarian games community is all about Games & Film ✨

We've put together a varied program for you:
- 🎤 – Senior Cinematic Artist at – shares in his talk "From Real World to Real Time" insights into his transition from the film to the games industry, exploring similarities and differences along the way
- 🪩 – Director Business Development at – shows in her talk "Hyperbowl, Power to the Storyteller" how Hyperbowl uses LED volumes, camera tracking, and real-time rendering powered by Unreal Engine to merge physical sets with digital worlds – and what this means for the future of visual storytelling.
Beyond that, you can look forward to:
- 🏠 A guided tour of with us from Games/Bavaria
- 🎮 A playtest by : their successful proof of concept "Die Frau aus Gype" shows how experience from the film world can flow into a game project
- 🎥 A presentation by Lena Fischer (Deputy Project Lead, CreatiF Center) on the work of the – as an interface between the creative industries, research, and technology, the CreatiF Center brings together filmmakers, developers, and researchers to explore and test the production and storytelling approaches of tomorrow
- 🎬 , director of GOD MODE, is looking for collaborators this evening to develop his fictional indie game into a real prototype – at the intersection of film and game development

Talk: Hyperbowl Virtual Production – Unreal Engine for Film and TV Production
Host: Elfi Kerscher (HYPERBOWL)
Info: Virtual production is fundamentally changing filmmaking by merging physical shoots with digital worlds in real time. At its core is Unreal Engine, which makes virtual environments visible and navigable directly on set.
HYPERBOWL combines LED volumes, precise camera tracking, and real-time rendering to create a production environment where scenes look nearly final while still being filmed (ICVFX). Light, perspective, and background respond instantly to the camera, creating a seamless connection between physical reality and digital content.
Drawing on a selection of production examples, we'll look at the more efficient workflows, creative control, and entirely new possibilities for visual storytelling this opens up. Power to the Storyteller.

Info: Playtest of our successful FFF-funded proof of concept: Set in early modern Bavaria, we play as a traveling musician seeking a way to free our beloved, who has been accused of witchcraft.

Info: The CreatiF Center at HFF München explores new technologies, workflows, and narrative forms for film, TV, and interactive media. As an interface between the creative industries, research, and technology, the Center brings together filmmakers, developers, and researchers to explore and test tomorrow's production and storytelling approaches.
A growing focus is on games and game tech – from interactive storytelling and game development to the use of game engines in film production and transmedia IP and story-world projects. This is complemented by events, networking, and advisory services for practitioners working across film, games, and media.

Info: GOD MODE is a feature film project about two friends determined to get their ambitious indie game to Gamescom – at any cost. We're looking for collaborators to help conceive and develop the fictional game, as well as inspiration and insights from the industry.
