Game On! Experience the Excitement of Adaptive Basketball!

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Kids + Family Volunteers will watch elite adaptive athletes compete in a high-energy wheelchair basketball tournament. Families will hear firsthand from an athlete or coach about the journey of adaptive sports. Volunteers can make signs, meet the players, and be part of the action. This is a great opportunity for awareness + empathy-building, allowing families to experience the power of inclusive sports.

SAAS Wheelchair Basketball Tucson Lobos D1 and Arizona Storm Women will play exhibition games with the University of Arizona Men’s & Women’s Teams, showcasing the skill, teamwork, and intensity of adaptive athletics.

Participants can show their support by creating signs and writing kind notes at home for the players, offering words of encouragement, appreciation, and motivation.

WHY IS THIS WORK IMPORTANT:

This event will benefit Southern Arizona Adaptive Sports and help raise awareness about adaptive athletics. Watching elite wheelchair athletes compete and hearing their stories provides a powerful lesson in resilience, teamwork, and inclusion. Adaptive sports create opportunities for athletes of all abilities to compete at a high level while building strength, confidence, and community. This event encourages families to support and celebrate these athletes while learning about the impact of inclusive sports.
