Design Your Own Solo RPG!

Ready to adventure as a party of one? In this workshop, game designer Kay Marlow Allen will introduce you to different types of solo role-playing games, and guide you in writing a short game of your own!

Please bring your favorite way to write (laptop, journal, etc). We'll also have paper and pens if you forget yours!

About Kay:

Kay Marlow Allen is a genderqueer game designer, poet, and publisher based in Massachusetts. Kay shares the mundanity and the magic of the everyday, and their work creates spaces for resting, reflecting, and connecting. They received a 2023 Literature Fellowship from the Somerville Arts Council, and they recently ran a successful crowdfunding campaign for their duet RPG Your Friend in Witchcraft. This workshop will take place at Side Quest Books & Games at Bow Market in Somerville. Side Quest is owned by Caroline Sheridan, an avid fan of all things fantasy and storytelling. The shop features fantasy books, indie RPGs and nerdy knick-knacks by underrepresented creators.
