Timothy White Jr. is a problem gambling specialist with the Kansas Behavioral Health Services Commission. In this public presentation, he will offer an engaging and informative look at problem gambling.
An interactive activity will place participants in the mindset of someone struggling with gambling addiction, highlighting common warning signs that may indicate a developing problem. Attendees will learn about activities that are gambling, but are generally not thought of as gambling.
White will also highlight the history and current landscape of gambling in Kansas, tracing its evolution from legalization in 1987 to the online sportsbooks of today. He will share key findings from the 2025 Kansas Gambling Survey, and conclude by sharing Kansas-based resources and support options available for individuals and families affected by gambling-related harms.
