About this Event
Join us in the West Gallery for a tour of two solo exhibitions installed side-by-side, Lithological and Expanded Bodies.
In Lithological, Caityln Marsh brings angular, monochromatic sculptures that showcase the impressive abilities of clay, as well as the medium’s capacity to represent the natural behaviors of earth and rock from an abstracted human perspective. She assembles the sculpture intuitively and spontaneously, emulating the ways that earth and rock move over time.
/ Caitlyn Marsh, Thrust Fault, stoneware, cone 6, 12" x 18" x 8", 2025
Bridey McGlynn's Expanded Bodies brings large-scale abstract paintings, collaborating with her own body to create open, up-for-interpretation imagery. Referencing the contours and marks of her own form, she repeatedly layers figure drawings, building and dismantling the image until it becomes unrecognizable. Through this process, the depiction of her body can hold multiple moments, and many perspectives can exist at once.
Both artists will dissect their process and elaborate on their inspirations at the event. They'll also be available to answer questions as you circulate throughout the galleries.
