Come along to our Spanish Sign Language (Lengua de Signos Española – LSE) taster session, led by final-year students who took LSE as a module during their year abroad! In this friendly, interactive session, you’ll get an introduction to basic signs, key expressions, and Deaf culture in Spain.

Spanish Sign Language is a vibrant, visual language used by the Deaf community across much of Spain, with its own grammar, structure, and regional variation. It offers a unique insight into how language, identity, and communication intersect beyond the spoken word.

No prior knowledge is needed — just your curiosity and your hands! Whether you study languages, linguistics, education, or simply love learning new ways to communicate, this is a fantastic opportunity to discover a different side of Spain’s linguistic diversity and to learn directly from students who’ve experienced it first-hand.
