Join us for the first ever GALEX Gala!
In addition to our general opening reception on Friday, February 28, 2025, we are hosting our inaugural GALEX Gala on Saturday, March 1, 2025 from 6-9pm.
This formal, ticketed evening event will celebrate achievement in the arts, raise funds to support the Galesburg Community Arts Center's endowment and operations, and commemorate the GALEX legacy—all set against the backdrop of our highly anticipated national exhibition. Mix and mingle with artists, bid on select works from the show, and enjoy a vibrant night at GCAC. Dress code: creative black tie attire (broadly interpreted)! This is a fun opportunity to dress up, but there is no official requirement to do so.
All tickets include entry at 6pm, complimentary grazing charcuterie and elevated hors d'oeuvres, and an opportunity to participate in the live art auction at 7:30pm (not required, but available). Enjoy live music by the Zoë Rose Trio (Zoë Rose, Andy Crawford, Brandon Roberts) throughout the exhibition until the auction begins.
VIP tickets will be available for reserved auction seating. Cash bar available throughout the night.
GUEST AUCTIONEER: Tiffany Springer
A curated selection of works from the GCAC’s GALEX 58 National Exhibition will be presented by Tiffany, our guest auctioneer, in a Sotheby’s style auction. The focus is on contemporary artwork by national, regional, and local artists. This live auction will be an event for collectors and spectators alike! Open to the public. No requirement to bid.
