Galena LitFest: Writing a Mystery Can be a Mystery!

Whodonit? That is the question in any M**der mystery, but an even better one is “How did the author do that anyway?!” In many cases, it means writing backwards. The author chooses who is killed and how. The author chooses the setting and the weapon. The author chooses…sometimes not a lot! Sometimes the characters themselves throw a monkey wrench into the well-planned outline. Come and learn about the road–and the potholes–that makes up writing a M**der mystery. 

This is a virtual program presented via Zoom to be viewed anywhere on a device with an internet connection. Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with the instructor and ask questions directly.

Galena LitFest 2025 is the eleventh annual literary festival organized and funded by the Galena Public Library with support from the Friends of the Galena Public Library. Events will take place throughout January in-person and virtually.
