Craddock Safety & Survival Class
The Craddock Safety and Survival Class is a high-intensity, hands-on training course designed to equip firefighters with the critical skills and knowledge they need to survive and thrive in the most challenging situations. Named in honor of DeKalb County Firefighter Bill Craddock, who was a passionate advocate for firefighter training and safety, this class embodies his commitment to excellence and brotherhood in the fire service.
Course Highlights:
Mayday Procedures: Learn the essential steps to effectively call and manage a Mayday situation, ensuring your safety and the safety of your team.
Rapid Intervention Techniques (RIT): Master the critical skills needed to rescue a fellow firefighter in distress, including advanced search and rescue tactics.
Self-Rescue Skills: Develop the ability to perform critical self-rescue maneuvers, including wall breaching, entanglement escape, and window bailout techniques.
Air Management: Gain expertise in conserving your air supply during high-stress situations, ensuring you can stay focused and effective when it matters most.
Firefighter Survival Tactics: Learn and practice essential survival techniques that will help you stay alive and safe when faced with the unexpected.
This course is designed for firefighters of all experience levels who are committed to enhancing their survival skills and ensuring they can perform under pressure. With a focus on realistic, scenario-based training, the Craddock Safety and Survival Class prepares participants for the real-world challenges they will face on the fireground.

Equipment: Participants are required to bring full turnout gear, including SCBA.
Waivers: All participants must sign a liability waiver prior to the start of the class.
