The Legal Tea is ecstatic to have Gabriella Brayne and Hugo Wagner-Hiliau joining our students for a session of The Legal Tea. Gabriella is a solicitor at Corban Rebell Lawyers who specialises in Treaty/Māori legal issues, criminal defense, and family law. Hugo is a solicitor at Meredith Connell who specialises in commercial disputes and criminal prosecution. We are thrilled to have them here today!
We will be exploring their piece "Pacific Peoples and the Criminal Justice System in Aotearoa New Zealand" focusing on the chapter 'Experiences in the Justice System' (pages 51-80).
Reading this piece is not necessary to attend!
