Join us at The Snug for a night of Folk, Blues, Rock from Gabriel Smith, hailing from intermountain west region of the United States and has been living in Hanoi for 2.5 years. Cutting his teeth on the unavoidable long drives associated with the DIY touring scene of the lonesome crowded west, Gabriel’s past projects (Hallowed Oak, Nude Dude, Happy Family, and Dem Bones) have shared the stage with notable artists such as Built to Spill, Jeffery Lewis, Little Wings, Jonathan Richman, Mitski, American Culture, and Paleo- to name a few.
When it comes to Smith’s original music, he draws on a wide range of musical influences in his songwriting— from the snotty, tongue in cheek protopunk NYC’s Lower East Side circa, to the crooning lamentations of Songs: Ohia’s Jason Molina, and the intricate world building and story telling of Bill Calahan
