Gabriel Lester – Melancholia in Arcadia
Saturday, June 20, marks the public opening of Melancholia in Arcadia, a haunting installation by Dutch artist Gabriel Lester at the newly restored Eugenia Williams House. Inspired by curtains gently stirred by unseen forces, the work transforms lace curtains into frozen gestures that evoke remembrance, presence, and the passage between worlds.
Presented by the Knoxville Museum of Art, this free exhibition is open Saturdays from 12-4 p.m. through August 29. No reservation required— admission is first come, first served.
Where: Eugenia Williams House, 4848 Lyons View Pike
