Gabbu Kathe - A Playful Satire on Garbage
Keerthi Kumar brings an interactive dance theatre experience that explores waste segregation and environmental awareness through performance and play.
'Gabbu Kathe – A Playful Satire on Garbage' is an imaginative mixed-media dance drama that blends storytelling, mime, rhythm, and visual theatre to explore themes of waste and responsibility through a child’s perspective.
The story follows a young ragpicker girl’s encounter with the Garbage King, whose dream is to rule the world through garbage. Playful in tone yet layered with meaning, the performance uses humour, movement, and fantasy to spark conversations around sustainability and mindful living.
Children are also invited to participate in a hands-on post-show activity, where they help segregate waste from the set into colour-coded bins for dry waste, wet waste, and e-waste. The experience concludes with a lively segment, where participants learn a section of the production’s energetic, street-play-inspired choreography.
