Walk away with practical strategies, ready‑to‑use resources, and a stronger capability of how to embed and assess Indigenous perspectives across your teaching, to provide a quality GA8 student learning experience.

Morning Session
GA8 Curriculum Development

In this session, participants explore the foundations of GA8 and strengthen their capacity to develop AQF‑aligned Indigenous perspectives.

Participants will learn to:

  1. Examine the purpose and expectations of GA8 in teaching and learning.
  2. Build confidence in curating Indigenous‑led curriculum resources.
  3. Reflect on your own positionality and professional practice as educators.
  4. Examine your responsibility in the protection of Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property (ICIP) rights when developing Indigenous curriculum,
  5. Explore a suite of GA8 curriculum resources and suggested learning activities.
  6. Source culturally appropriate, high‑quality materials that:

• Privilege Indigenous voice,

• Adopt strength‑based approaches,

• Promote ethical engagement with Indigenous perspectives.

  1. Develop culturally appropriate GA8 assessments and rubrics.

Afternoon Session
GA 8 Curriculum Delivery

In this session, participants will explore culturally safe teaching and learning principles and practices.

  1. Participants will build capability in:

• Delivering GA8 content in both online and in‑person classrooms,

• Applying sensitive content disclaimers,

• Managing challenging conversations,

• Providing informed feedback on GA8‑related assessments.

Unit Chairs, teaching academics, marking academics, curriculum designers and anyone involved in developing or delivering GA 8 Indigenous perspectives in curriculum.
