New York Irish Center, in associatin with TG4, Ireland's premier Irish language broadcaster, present Fís Nua | New Vision, representing a thrilling next step in the resurgence of the Irish language both in Ireland and across the world, as in the influence of the language reaches across the Atlantic.
As America's first Irish Language Film Festival, "Fís Nua | New Vision", curated by New York Irish Center, will present the daring new works of Irish feature film, American premieres of insightful documentaries, an afternoon dedicated to children’s programming and arts, thrilling new short films, and even some local work of Irish filmmakers in New York City.

About the resurgence of the language, how media and entertainment has been instrumental in this revival, and perspective on TG4's pivotal role in broadening the mainstream appeal of the language.

Set in 1981, the film follows a withdrawn nine-year-old girl raised by neglectful parents among many other siblings, who experiences a loving home for the first time when she spends the summer on a farm in Rinn Gaeltacht, County Waterford, alone with a married couple who are distant relatives.

Featuring intimate interviews and spellbinding performances with Kathleen Keenan, Sarah Dunne, Sharyn Ward, Niamh Dunne and Steo Wall, among others, and alongside original poetry written by Martin Warde.

A spotlight on a locally made short film in New York, An Chathair Mhór young man moves to New York from Ireland and rediscovers his love for Gaeilige through minding his grandaunt Breda.
