V performativnem delu v juniju bodo 𝐎𝐥𝐣𝐚 𝐆𝐫𝐮𝐛𝐢ć, 𝐓𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐊𝐨𝐜𝐦𝐮𝐫 in 𝐔𝐧𝐚 𝐁𝐚𝐮𝐞𝐫 raziskovale razpoke v alternativne svetove, zlasti v kontekstu feminističnih in queer bojev.

Z izhodiščem v projektih, kot so igra Game-Changers: The Game, živi laboratorij Prihodnost 14B in umetniški projekt The Department for Parallel Economic World(ing)s, bomo raziskali, kako se gradnja svetov (worldbuilding) uveljavlja v različnih gibanjih – v vse bolj popularnem LARP-anju in družabnih igrah, v spekulativnih fikcijah in v sodobni umetnosti.

What would it take to truly have the power to shape our future? How can we not only imagine but actively implement alternative social, economic and political realities in the austere conditions of late capitalism? Can art and speculation be mediating tools in the crisis of the political imaginary? Through the Futurisms series, we are building a feminist platform for creating our own imaginaries of the future.
The series brings together artists, researchers and practitioners who use performance and play to explore possible realities. In a lecture series in April and May, 𝐑𝐨𝐤 𝐊𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐣𝐜, 𝐀𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐣𝐚 𝐑𝐨𝐠𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐤𝐚 and the 𝐅𝐨𝐀𝐌 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 – 𝐌𝐚𝐣𝐚 𝐊𝐮𝐳𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐢ć, 𝐍𝐢𝐤 𝐆𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐊𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐑𝐢𝐜𝐡 – will explore guerrilla economic futurism, post-fossil rituals and business as a site of experimentation. In a performance piece in June, 𝐎𝐥𝐣𝐚 𝐆𝐫𝐮𝐛𝐢ć, 𝐓𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐊𝐨𝐜𝐦𝐮𝐫 and 𝐔𝐧𝐚 𝐁𝐚𝐮𝐞𝐫 will explore the fissures into alternative worlds, especially in the context of feminist and queer struggles.

This talk explores the intersections of performance and speculation as tools for advancing post-capitalist paradigms such as degrowth and the commons, at both local and translocal levels. How can these approaches be leveraged to embody radical alternatives? And how might they intervene in the dominant narratives of the future, which are shaped by those with reality-bending power? Drawing on projects such as the game show Game-Changers: The Game, the living laboratory Future 14B, and the art project The Department for Parallel Economic World(ing)s, among other case studies, we will explore how worldbuilding is emerging across movements – from the resurgence of LARPs and board games to speculative fiction and contemporary art. Through this lens, we will critically explore what new modes and theories of social change these practices offer, and their untapped potential for fostering decentralised “imagination infrastructures” capable of challenging capitalist realism.
