Future Risers Kickstarter: Business Pitch & Community Event

Tacoma Rising brings back the Kickstarter for year two! Watch 15 student teams pitch businesses with local mentors on Nov 19 in Tacoma.
About this Event

Last year, we had 5 teams, 8 schools, and 10 mentors. This year, we’re prospecting for 15 teams, 18 schools, and 30 mentors. During the Future Risers Kickstarter, we invite schools in and out of Tacoma to come together, work with qualified local business owners, and build a full business plan and pitch it to a panel of judges. It’s an entrepreneurship workshop that uplifts the youth.

This high-energy, one-day sprint allows for students to collaborate with others in small teams to develop big ideas. Throughout the day, they’ll gain experience in teamwork, high-level problem-solving, business operational autonomy, marketing and sorts alike. This is something teenagers may not always have the opportunity to get elsewhere.

So where do you come in?

Join the public portion of this event to see the students present their ideas live after working for just a few hours on their business plans.

Tacoma’s future depends on the future generation that we foster now. The Kickstarter gives the youth an oversight of the real-world stage, led by the people who came from the bottom up. As the students work their creativity within the business realm, join us for when the public is presented a sneak peek of what our future leaders hold for us.
