About this Event
Join us to stop the restart of an offshore oil pipeline that already spilled off the California coast in 2015.
The Center for Biological Diversity will lead us in an evening of community action, connection, and coastal defense.
We’ll come together to address a pressing threat to California’s coastline and marine ecosystems: the attempted restart of a corroded oil pipeline by Texas-based Sable Offshore—the same pipeline responsible for the devastating 2015 Refugio oil spill. Despite a Cease and Desist Order from the Coastal Commission, Sable is pushing forward—putting our beaches, wildlife, and coastal communities at risk.
With insights from the Center for Biological Diversity, we’ll unpack what’s at stake, how this moment fits into the larger struggle against federal oil policy, and what we can do to stop it. Through expert perspective, collective brainstorming, and participatory planning, we’ll mobilize to protect our coast and demand Governor Newsom and state agencies take bold, decisive action.
Come learn, organize, and take a stand for the future of our coast.
Future Forum exists to support the Monterey Bay Area in building resilience and regeneration through education, engagement, and action.
