THE DETAILS:
We’ve got a new Fusion Belly Dance class coming your way! And this time, we are delving into Shaabi style belly dance! It’s a fun, sassy street-style of belly dance that’s usually accompanied to upbeat music with cheeky lyrics, and a saucy stage presence! Be prepared to sweat and get a little feisty with those shimmies! Also, if you’re interested in dancing in the August 21st show case, this will be one of the class choreos!
WHAT TO WEAR?
Come to class in whatever clothes you comfortably move in. A bare foot or dancer slipper (no heels) is typical for this class.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
No dance experience is required as a break down of the movements and an explanation of the vocabulary used will be given in class. This class is multi-level, I always offer modifications and extra challenges for more advanced students. Each class consists of a basic warm up, a tutorial in the technique, then those techniques get drilled in combinations. We’ll then string those combos string together to make a fully formed choreographed routine. And we always end class with a little lead-and-follow freestyle!
*ALSO-at some point this summer, the floor of the ballroom ~might~ be getting refinished. I don’t any details on if or when yet. But if that does happen, we might lose a week of class while the new floor cures.
PRICING, LOCATION, MISC.
Classes are located at 395 Gregory Street at the Highland Ballroom in the Weider Hall building, 4th floor. Register for the full 8 week session for $120 (That’s $15 a class) or drop-in for $20 a piece.
If you’re interested in performing in the 8/21st showcase, I insist on registering for the full 8 weeks and let me know by the third class-so that i can factor you into formations and featured sections. If you cannot make it to class, for whatever reason, please reach out and let me know, so i can keep you posted.
