About this Event
In this fun relaxing class you will be decorating eight 3” Christmas tree ornaments. So bring your creativity and come up with some unique ideas.
Unlike stained glass where soldering irons are used for assembling a window, fused glass is “baked” in a kiln until the pieces of glass are fused together. I will explain more about fusing in class.
No experience is necessary. The trees and trunks will already be pre-cut, but if you would like a short lesson on how to score and break glass that could be given so you can cut your own pieces.
You will then decorate the trees with small pieces of glass, stringers (long pieces of glass that look like spaghetti), frit (crushed glass), and fusible paint. All but the fusible paint will be glued on to the base of the trees.
After this two hour workshop the trees will stay overnight for the glue to dry. The next day I will place them in a kiln so they can be fused together. After the fusing process, they will be wired wrap (or the wire can be taken home and you can wrap the trees) and an ornament hanger attached to the top of each tree for hanging.
I will send out emails when the trees are finished and ready for pickup, usually in one week.
