FUNKY KINGSTON—an evening of super heavy funk, super sonic soul and super boss boogaloo with DJ Phast Phreddie the Boogaloo Omnibus —a fairly recent transplant to the Hudson Valley from the Brooklyn DJ wars, where he was involved with The Subway Soul Club, Dynagroove, Wham-O Watusi, Discophonic Walk and many other swingin’ soirees—each dealing with the spinning of fabulous records! At FUNKY KINGSTON, DJ Phast Phreddie will pull out some of his most fantastic funk and soul records—and perhaps some reggae, mambo and other exotic rhythms—in order to excite all comers.
Guest DJ will be Edward Martuscello, host of the Nor'easter Soul Club--a groovy R&B dance scene that takes place in the Saratoga/Albany region. Big Ed's got some fabulous funk and soul records and he'll be happy to play them for you at the FUNKY KINGSTON.
It all happens on Saturday August 30 at The Salt Box—Kingston, NY’s swingin’est joint, conveniently located at 10 Crown Street in the heart of Kingston. The DJ action starts at 9:00 PM and takes place upstairs in the Rumpus Room. We will swing until they kick us out!!!
