MANCALA

Mancala is the self produced alternative rock duo of multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, frontman, and producer; Marcos Posse-Mir, and drummer/ percussionist, and cowrighter Holden Cowburn.

Mancala's freshman and sophomore releases "Some Girls Just Want Cheese" and "Guilt.../…Hopefully Yours” respectively are the 3 chapters of "The Fox And The Crow" trilogy.

Their single, "Strip Tease" is a tropical, beachy summer tune you can dance to with a melancholic message behind the densely layered percussion, intricately composed guitars, and bright synth work. It reflects on feeling unaccepted by the ones who love you.

Mancala released their final single, and title track to their new 13 track LP "We're Only Getting Older" which delves into cultural differences between American families and families from other places in the world as well as describes the hopelessness and anxiety felt by frontman Marcos D. Posse-Mir as he becomes an adult.

The "We're Only Getting Older" LP further explores these themes of transitioning between adolescence and adulthood, touching on political subjects, relationships whether they're romantic, sexual, familial, or platonic, as well as a slew of other cultural observations.

Mancala blends sounds of alternative and indie rock staples such as Radiohead, Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes, Smashing Pumpkins, The Flaming Lips, MGMT, and Tame Impala to name a few while being entirely unique in their sound according to their fans.
