Join Welty before their annual meeting for a presentation about the biology, growing, history, and health benefits of mushrooms by Ingrid Daudert of Misty Dawn Farm, a diverse agroforestry farm in Janesville, WI.Ingrid has worked in conservation her entire adult life. She received a BS in water resource (fisheries) management from UW Stevens Point and was fortunate in her career to work in a variety of capacities for the Wisconsin DNR, the Lake County Health Department’s Lakes Management Unit and UW Extension as a conservation specialist working with
farmers.
Ingrid decided to become a mushroom farmer with the slash left behind by loggers on her previous property, and she has been a mycophile ever since. Four years ago, she purchased an abandoned 19-acre farm in Janesville. Ingrid is excited to share her farming, mushroom and conservation successes and failures with you!
The hour-long conversation will be followed by light refreshments and Welty’s annual meeting, for those who wish to stay. The annual meeting will include information about the organization’s 2025 programming and finances, as well as board elections.
There is no cost to attend and please register at the link to save a seat.
