Until the end of 2025 we are raising funds for The Great North Air Ambulance Service.
At the end of January this year Storm Isha wrought havoc across the country and Augill was not spared. Our newly built sheep shed, ready for lambing, was shredded in an instant by the wind.
An emergency salvage operation to save farm supplies, straw and hay kicked into action first thing the next morning.
But Isha wasn’t quite finished with us. While helping with the clean-up Simon, one of our owners for 26 years, had a cardiac arrest.
It’s something less than 4% of people survive and but for the quick actions of colleagues with CPR and defibrillation and the timely arrival of the air ambulance, he would not have made it.
The GNAAS costs £8.5m per year to run. It receives not a penny of public money for operating costs or salaries and yet, without it and the 22 other air ambulance services up and down the country, countless people, including Simon, would not be alive today.
So....on the last Sunday of the month, starting in with this date ion August, we will be holding special afternoon teas raising money for @gnairambulance donating £5 from each Afternoon Tea. We will also be holding a raffle on the day at £1 per ticket with an Afternoon Tea as the main prize.
£27.50 a head for adults, and £14.50 for children.
