Fundraiser Tournament for Trinity Christian Academy
FORMAT:
—IC6s = Indoor Coed Sixes
SETTING:
—Trinity Christian Academy
—Address: 10 Windy City Rd, Jackson, TN 38305
—8:30am arrival, 8:45am players' meeting & prayer, 9:00am first serves
COST & PRIZES:
—Costs $240 per team ($40/player for a team of six).
—Since this is a fundraiser, the winning team will receive prizes like gift cards and school merchandise.
REGISTRATION:
—Message Timothy Spurgeon Carlson directly to save your team a spot.
—Captains must pay in full via Venmo the week of the tournament.
ROSTER REQUIREMENTS:
—Every team must have two 6-rotation-females, meaning at least two of the six positions on the court must be occupied by a female throughout all six rotations.
(If you need further clarification about this rule, please ask Tim Carlson before you start building what could be an illegal roster.)
TOURNAMENT FORMAT:
—Pool play followed by bracket play.
—The criteria for bracket seeding after pool play will be as follows: win-loss record, point differential, head-to-head, coin toss/odd or even/random trivia question/medieval joust.
RULES:
Standard indoor sixes rules apply with the following highlights.
—Participants must play as their biological sex at birth.
—There is no "female must touch the ball before sending it over" rule.
—The spiral molten ball is the default game ball.
—Doubling the first and second contacts are legal as long as the double contact was committed in a single attempt to play the ball, and as long as the ball was not sent across the net.
—Any net touch of body or clothes during play results in a loss of point (hair excluded). If the ball is down before the net touch, there is no violation.
—All players can block and attack at and above the net.
—If a player is trying to set a tight pass where any part of the ball is over the plane of the net, the blocker has every right to contact the ball, even if it's in the setter's hands. If that happens, the play continues on because no violation occurred, for both teams have the right to play a ball over the plane of the net.
—Blockers are allowed to redirect the ball with one or two hands.
—Coming under the net is illegal only if it interferes with play and the offending player's entire foot is across the center line.
—You get one toss on your serve.
