You’re warmly invited to join us for an uplifting evening of poetry and improvised music in solidarity with Palestine and all Palestinians!The poet Nada Shawa will join us as our special guest, performing alongside musician Bell Lungs! We'll also have listening experiences to blow the mind with improvised sets by Vole Invasion and Ubu Warp Cheer!

The immersive sounds we create will emerge of their own accord as we tune into whatever’s calling to be expressed in any given moment from our shared space. We’re excited to see what will arise from our collaborative expression, and would love you to journey with us as we venture together into previously undiscovered soundscapes…
***All profits from the sale of tickets will be donated to the charity Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) which provides lifesaving support to Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank, East Jerusalem and Lebanon (Registered charity number 10445315)***
>How MAP uses the money we donate:
£5 could help pay for antibiotics
£10 could help pay for medicine to treat blood loss
£25 could help pay for a hygiene kit containing sanitary products and nappies
£50 could help feed malnourished children in Gaza or provide a displaced family with a blanket and mattress
>Tickets: You choose how much you pay for your ticket from a sliding scale of £10 to £60. Advance booking essential!
>The evening’s line-up:
7.30pm onwards Doors open, grab a Gaza Cola and make yourself comfortable!
8.00pm- 8:30pm Palestinian Nada Shawa will be sharing her poetry with musical accompaniment from multi-instrumentalist Bell Lungs
15 minute intermission
8.45pm - 9:15pm Improvised music from Vole Invasion aka Ali Robertson (voice, amplified objects), Firas Khnaisser (multi-instrumentalist) and Armin Sturm (upright bass)
15 minute intermission
9.30pm - 10pm Improvised music from Ubu Warp Cheer aka Leigh Chorlton (drums), Mike Harper (guitar), Rita Pacheco (voice, percussion) and Peter Russell (clarinet)
10pm Purchase some merch, if you liked what you heard! :)
>Refreshments:
We will have chilled Gaza Cola available for a suggested donation of £2.50
If you’d like to drink alcohol, please bring your own bottle (or can)!
We will have a recycling bin on hand to dispose of your empties.
>>>Access info:
>Wheelchair access: Whitespace is at street level with step-free access. Entrance door is 100cm wide. The whole space is at ground floor level. Unfortunately, the toilet is not wheelchair-accessible. There is an accessible toilet in Kilimanjaro Coffee on nearby Nicholson Street (open until 8pm).
>Noise levels: We will be using amplifiers for our music. Please bring earplugs if you think you might need them.
>Lighting: The gallery has strip lights with special daylight bulbs so not the usual harsh fluorescent lights.
>Assistance dogs only, please!
>>>If you are sick in any way that could be infectious to others, please stay away in solidarity with others in the community who may be immunocompromised or simply want and need to stay healthy!
