Join Team Martinez for a powerful night of film, community, and action as Councilmember Giselle Martinez presents the Student Academy Award-winning documentary Here to Stay, directed by Jared Peraglia.
In 2021, Giselle Martinez became the youngest Councilmember elected to the Newburgh City Council. Here to Stay chronicles the grassroots election campaign of Giselle, who at the age of 22, decided to run for office. This film reflects the heart of Giselle’s mission: uplifting the voices of the underrepresented, building a stronger, more inclusive Newburgh, and ensuring that no one is left behind.
