Frequently asked questions
Is the venue Wheelchair accessible?
Yes. The cat yoga is ground floor at our new studio at 24 Water St, Toowoomba. There are unfortunately no accessibility toilets on the premises.
Can I bring children to this event?
Yes, children aged over 9 can attend, accompanied by a responsible adult (18+), participating in the session. Max 2 kids per 1 adult. Please be aware that cats prefer quiet, slow movements, so if your kids aren't like this, for the cats' sake do not attend. Rambunctious humans will be asked to leave.
Can my children attend on their own?
Unfortunately no. For this event, we do not accept children without an accompanying participating adult (aged 18+).
When should I arrive?
You will be able to join the session approx 10 minutes prior to the start. Please be ready on your yoga mat at least 5 minutes before the start of your session. For the safety of the cats, latecomers will not be allowed.
Where should I park?
Ample street parking is available on Water Street. Please be mindful of the time it takes to park, arrive at the studio, check in and settle into the yoga room. Latecomers will not be allowed.
Can I reserve a yoga mat to use?
No. We will not have yoga mats for you to use for the cat yoga session. You must bring your own.
What do I need to bring for the cat yoga session?
Please bring your yoga mat, a water bottle, and wear comfortable clothing suitable for movement. We also encourage participants to bring an open heart and a playful spirit! Please be aware that cats have sharp claws that can rip into mats and clothing - leave expensive mats and yoga gear at home!
What if a cat scratches or bites me?
Cats and especially kittens are playful and at times unpredictable creatures, using their paws and mouth for play sessions. We recommend using the toys provided to play with the cats and avoid using hands, hair or clothing for play.
What if I am allergic to cats?
If you know you have allergies, we recommend seeking medical advice about attending this session. Your physician may recommend taking medications.
Are the cats and kittens toilet trained?
Yes. However, accidents do happen! Please be prepared for this event. Volunteers will assist in the case of any accidents.
How fit do I need to be for the yoga?
This is a beginner level class. The poses will be gentle and suitable for ages 9-99! You will need to be medically fit to join the class. If you have any medical concerns, please consult your Doctor prior to signing up for this cat yoga session.
Are the cats adoptable, and can we adopt them at the event?
Yes, the cats participating in the event are seeking loving homes. While adoption isn't finalised during the event, the dedicated volunteers from SCA will provide information on the adoption process and guide interested families through the next steps.
How can I get involved or volunteer with the cat rescue organisation?
We'd love to have you join our community! Visit our facebook or speak with our event volunteers to learn more about volunteer opportunities, fostering programs, and other ways you can contribute to our mission of saving and improving the lives of cats.
What is your refund policy?
As this is a fundraiser, there are strictly no refunds. If you are unable to attend, please consider giving your ticket to someone else. Or contact us and we may be able to find a replacement for you..
