SaskMusic is please to present a series of FREE music workshops as part of Culture Days in Saskatchewan. These workshops are intended to give an overview and introduction of different aspects of being a music artists with tips, tricks, and best practices for developing your music career.
Whether you are just starting out in your musical journey or an experienced artist these workshops will have something for you!
SaskMusic's Culture Days events have been made possible in part through the support of Creative Saskatchewan, FACTOR, the Government of Canada, Canada's private radio broadcasters and City of Yorkton.

Step into the world of singing with confidence! This beginner-friendly workshop is designed to give you essential tools to strengthen your voice, care for your instrument, and perform with poise. You’ll explore:
• Strong: Discover the registers and vocal colours of YOUR voice and exercises to build vocal power
• Healthy: Learn practical tips for vocal care, safe warm-ups, and maintaining a resilient voice
• Confident: Practice performance techniques to feel comfortable singing solo or in a group
No prior experience is needed—just bring your voice, your enthusiasm and a favourite song in mind. Leave with a set of practical exercises, healthy habits, and tools to keep growing as a singer.
Alyssa Woolhether Bio:
Based in Regina, Saskatchewan, soprano Alyssa Woolhether is a versatile performer, voice teacher, choir director, and advocate for singers of all ages and backgrounds. She maintains a thriving private studio at The University of Regina’s Conservatory of Performing Arts, guiding students to discover their authentic voice through functional training and vocal empowerment.
Passionate about uplifting female and gender-expansive voices, Alyssa works as a vocal instructor and band coach at GRR! Regina, a youth camp supporting female, trans, Two-Spirit, and gender-expansive youth, and directs the Sisters in Song Women’s Choir, fostering community, confidence, and artistic expression.
Alyssa holds a Master of Music Performance and Literature from Western University and a Bachelor of Music Performance from the University of Regina, as well as Level I–III certification in Somatic Voicework™ – The LoVetri Method. She has trained with leading opera programs in Canada and Europe and has performed with numerous Ontario opera companies, building over 20 years of stage experience as a recitalist and opera singer.
In addition to her classical work, Alyssa is a cross-genre performer and songwriter with her soul/funk band Lyssa & the Try-Tones, releasing three EPs and earning multiple Saskatchewan Music Award nominations. She believes that cultivating trust in one’s instrument not only builds confidence but also unlocks creativity and connection.
