This four-hour introductory session is designed for those who are curious about theatre and wish to understand how a play comes alive on stage.
The session focuses on the fundamentals of dramatic storytelling…what makes a moment theatrical, how conflict drives a scene, and how characters reveal themselves through action rather than explanation. It aims to shift the perspective from “telling a story” To “creating an experience in real time.”
About the conductor
Prajakt Deshmukh
Prajakt Deshmukh is a distinguished playwright, director, actor, and screenwriter known for his significant contributions to contemporary theatre and film. With a strong foundation in agriculture and rural management, his artistic work reflects a unique sensitivity toward social narratives and rooted storytelling.
He is widely acclaimed for writing and directing notable productions such as Sangeet Devbabhali and Karunashtake, which have earned both critical and audience appreciation. As a writer, his diverse body of work includes Ekadashavtar, Budrukwadi Cha Maruti Batla, Jaliyeli Lanka, Rainmaker, 12 KMs, and Afu. As an actor, he has delivered notable performances in productions like To Rajhans Ek and Handabhar Chandnya, showcasing his versatility on stage.
Deshmukh’s contributions to the theatre have been recognized with prestigious honors, including State Awards and the Yuva Sahitya Akademi Award, affirming his place as a leading voice in the contemporary cultural landscape.
