Fund the People Who Care: Why workforce wellbeing is key to better outcomes
About this Event
FUND THE PEOPLE WHO CARE: Why workforce wellbeing is essential to better outcomes.
Join us for meaningful conversation—and a delicious breakfast to fuel it!
Convened by Elevate Children Funders Group, SAPPIN, Grassroot Soccer, and The Two Lilies Fund, highlighting work from the World Childhood Foundation, Porticus, Mama Hope and others.
Across the world, frontline practitioners are doing some of the most demanding—and essential—work in our communities. They care for children, young people and families navigating violence, poverty, displacement, trauma and loss. They hold space for others, absorb enormous emotional burdens, and keep showing up—often with limited resources, support or recognition.
But who is caring for them?
And what would it take to build systems that make care for the workforce a fundamental part of how we fund, design and deliver services—not something we address only when people are already burning out?
Join us during UNGA for an interactive, cross-sector conversation about workforce wellbeing, care and the systems that sustain frontline practice.
All sectors are welcome. This conversation is for funders, practitioners, policymakers and leaders across child and youth development, health, education, climate, technology, social protection and beyond—anyone invested in the people and systems that make better outcomes possible.
Together, we'll explore:
- What does it mean to truly value the people at the heart of changemaking?
- What can frontline practitioners teach us about the support that actually makes a difference?
- What happens when workforce wellbeing is treated as foundational—not an add-on?
- How can funders, organisations and policymakers change the way they support and sustain frontline work?
- How do we move from evidence and intention to meaningful, sustained action?
This is not another conversation about resilience that asks individuals to carry the weight of broken systems.
It is an invitation to imagine—and begin building—systems of care that care for the people who make change possible.
Expect honest reflection, new evidence, provocative questions, practical examples, meaningful connection—and a few surprises.
