Building relationships with donors, identifying and cultivating prospects, and donor stewardship are some of the most important things a nonprofit leader can do to ensure sustainability.
You'll gain a comprehensive overview of:
- The importance of diverse funding streams;
- Core elements of fund development planning;
- The development process;
- Best practices to identify and leverage all of your resources;
- Ways to assess and improve current fund development practices;
- The critical importance of gratitude;
- The stages through which a donor moves as their financial commitment increases
A special focus will be placed upon the key elements for success essential to every form of fundraising. You'll discover how to set goals in alignment with organizational goals, organizational capacity and your strategic plan, and learn about available tools to access new sources of funding. Guest presenters will include local fund development experts and area foundations.
This class is geared towards working professionals. While attendees are expected to engage in activities during class, there is generally no homework required. Expect to spend no more than 30-60 minutes per week outside of class engaging in class activities. In-class activities, discussion, and engagement will enhance your learning and relevance of topics to your work.
