CALLING ALL ADHD homeschooling parents (or any homeschooler who just needs a little help “adulting”): Have you ever sat down to pay bills and thought “what a drag”? At Our Hygge Homeschool, we believe in making the mundane suck less, so we’re hosting a new kind of playdate. On the last Tuesday of every month, homeschool families in the Tulsa area are invited to meet up so the kids can play together or do their school work while the grown ups pay bills, check emails, plan curriculum, book doctor’s appointments, cancel subscriptions, etc. Been putting off that customer service call because you can never reach a human? Maybe someone else at the table has a better number you can call! Never got thru that lesson plan because you keep getting distracted at home? Get it done in a group setting! This is called “body doubling” and for many ADHDers, its the key to getting tasks done, but for a lot of folks, it doesn’t work with your own family members because you just distract each other. It works best with friends, at a set time, where everyone knows the mission:
This is a come-and-go meet up, so bring whatever you've been putting off, make a new friend or two, maybe give someone some helpful advice, and let the kids run off energy at the same time! Leave whenever you’re ready.
Where is it happening?
