Join our local Public Health Nurse to learn about sun safety to kick off the summer! Stay after our Science Heroes program or come just for this event!
We know that the sun makes visible light, but do you ever think about the light you cannot see? Join us as we explore the science and magic of Ultraviolet Light- the light just beyond the rainbow! We will do an experiment with sunscreen, make our own UV bracelets that magically change color in the sun, and create artwork with cyanotype paper (sun paper). We will discuss how we can protect ourselves from getting too much UV light, and how animals naturally protect themselves. We will also explore some of the amazing birds, bugs and mammals that have the superpower to see UV light.
Registration is not required!
This program is part of the Plant a Seed Read programming and for more information visit our website: https://www.amesburylibrary.org/281/Summer-Program.
Please note: Only service animals are allowed at our programming for safety.
