Fun Palaces Workshop in collaboration with Junction Arts

Fun Palaces is a national campaign for community-led culture. Each year, on the first weekend of October, thousands of people across the UK come together to make Fun Palaces happen; sharing the skills, passions and interests that matter to them. From carpentry to dance, Arabic coffee making to treasure trails, circus skills to film making, recipe swaps to table-top volcanoes - we've seen it all. Since we began in 2014 there have been 2300 Fun Palaces nationwide, with almost 1 million people taking part.

This free workshop shares a little about the Fun Palaces campaign (and why we think it's important), there will be a chance to hear from Junction Arts about the work we do locally, and the Fun Palaces team will share some tips and hints on how you could bring your neighbours together this October to make a Fun Palace (tiny or huge) and put Chesterfield on the map. This workshop is also for local organisations who may be looking for different ways to connect with their communities.

There will be an opportunity to join in some creative activities, have a cuppa and some group conversations facilitated by the Fun Palaces team.
