The price for this visit is £2 per child and £2 per adult attending.
There are very limited spaces for this trip, so it will be booked on a first payment received basis.
At least two experienced members of OASI will host the group visit.
They will generally cover the following topics:
* Guided tour of the observatory.
* History of the observatory.
* The instruments at the observatory, how they were used historically and how they are used nowadays.
* If weather conditions permit, view the night sky using the Tomline Refractor.
PLEASE NOTE
Access to the observatory is via two flights of stairs and a spiral staircase.
There are no toilet facilities at the observatory.
Please DO NOT enter via the main wrought iron gates – there is no access to the observatory this way and cars will be locked in overnight. Instead, as you look at these gates turn left towards the river and enter via the second set of gates on your right. These are automatic gates and someone will be there from 7.50pm to let you in. If you arrive early please wait along the road outside these gates.
