Experience the Magic of Full Moon Paddles on Strangford Lough
Join us for an unforgettable night-time paddling adventure on the tranquil waters of Strangford Lough with our Full Moon Paddles. Experience the beauty of the lough under the enchanting glow of the full moon, as you glide through calm waters, surrounded by wildlife. This unique moonlit paddling experience is perfect for those seeking outdoor adventure and relaxation.
The full moon is unique to witness from the water and no better place to do so, than from a kayak, SUP or canoe on a flat sea. In astrology, the April full moon is the first Blood moon of the year and goes by the name Pink Moon. Northern Native Americans call April’s full moon the pink moon after a species of early blooming wildflower. In other cultures, this moon is called the Lenten Moon, sprouting grass moon, the egg moon, and the fish moon.
Colorful Kayaks On Moonlit Water
Paddlers With Paddles On Shore
Departing at twilight you will be guided by an instructor for a paddle out onto Strangford Lough and around the islands. With a favourable forecast, we hope to have a great view of the stars and Moon. We’ll aim to stop and have a chat with our physicist who will entertain you with lots of moon related facts and folklore. After that, we’ll return to base for some hot chocolate & treats.
Dates & Booking These special moonlight paddling experiences take place once a month, aligning with the lunar calendar. Spaces are limited, so early booking is recommended to avoid disappointment.
