Full Moon Harmony · Youth World Folk Music Concert
About this Event
Full Moon Harmony · Youth World Folk Music Concert
This Mid-Autumn Festival, young musicians and traditional music come together in a beautiful celebration of culture, heritage and harmony.
Piano, violin and cello will share the stage with traditional Chinese instruments including the guzheng, pipa, dizi and zhongruan. Through solo performances, chamber ensembles, group performances and vocal music, young performers will present traditional Chinese music, treasured folk classics and well-loved melodies from around the world.
From A Moonlit Night on the Spring River, The Butterfly Lovers, Fisherman’s Song at Dusk, Lovely Jasmine Flower and Tea by Moonlight, to Moon River and Slavonic Dance, familiar melodies will be brought to life by a new generation of young musicians, allowing these musical and cultural traditions to continue through learning, performance and sharing.
Under the same full moon, Eastern and Western music meet, cultures connect, and different traditions blend and resonate in harmony.
🌙 Under the full moon, music connects past and present.
This Mid-Autumn Festival, join us to hear the echoes of tradition and discover the fresh new voices that a younger generation brings to timeless classics.
Proudly supported by the City of Perth and the Office of Multicultural Interests (OMI).
