Hey all, a fun grade II run with an awesome surf wave at the end of it. As we need to supply the Maori trust with a lot of details such your name, phone number, car number plates, make/model/year/colour if driving, next of kin and their contact phone, level of experience etc. club members only please. We also need to agree with the conditions below. Will see if we can camp at the Fiber Fresh National Equestrian Centre or failing that the Wairakei Thermal Valley campground was pretty quirky and only a short drive away.General conditions:
1. Light no fires, erect temporary structures (such as tents, marquees or sheds) without specific permission, and ensure you clean up and remove all rubbish from the river banks and Tauhara North land.
2. Camping is not permitted at any time.
3. Smoking is not permitted on the river or on Tauhara North land (fire hazard)
4. Vehicles must not block or be parked on any access roads. During dry summer conditions, vehicles must not be parked on the grass (fire hazard).
5. There is to be no consumption of alcohol or drugs on the river or Tauhara North land nor are river users to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol (health and safety hazard, drowning hazard).
6. Please respect the river and know your limits. Do not paddle or swim alone. Note that river levels can rise suddenly and unexpectedly – contact Mercury, the operator at the nearby Aratiatia Dam for information.
